Ebook About Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride set up The Cambridge Nutrition Clinic in 1998. As a parent of a child diagnosed with learning disabilities, she is acutely aware of the difficulties facing other parents like her, and she has devoted much of her time to helping these families. She realized that nutrition played a critical role in helping children and adults to overcome their disabilities, and has pioneered the use of probiotics in this field. Her willingness to share her knowledge has resulted in her contributing to many publications, as well as presenting at numerous seminars and conferences on the subjects of learning disabilities and digestive disorders. Her book Gut and Psychology Syndrome captures her experience and knowledge, incorporating her most recent work. She believes that the link between learning disabilities, the food and drink that we take, and the condition of our digestive system is absolute, and the results of her work have supported her position on this subject. In her clinic, parents discuss all aspects of their child's condition, confident in the knowledge that they are not only talking to a professional but to a parent who has lived their experience. Her deep understanding of the challenges they face puts her advice in a class of its own.Book Gut and Psychology Syndrome: Natural Treatment for Autism, Dyspraxia, A.D.D., Dyslexia, A.D.H.D., Depression, Schizophrenia, 2nd Edition Review :
EDIT: I ended up being correctly diagnosed with a correctable physical issue, not IBS (maybe SIBO, but caused by the issue) with just an ultrasound. Do yourself a favor and get some more diagnostic tests before you commit to this extreme diet. This is a decent book with some interesting information about mental and autoimmune health issues and vaccines that I hadn't heard phrased rationally before. Just don't expect GAPS to be a cure-all. As far as technical specs go, it's bit of a difficult read, since the spacing is really tight, font is small, and formatting is sparse and minimal (and not in a good way).As for GAPS itself, I did low-FODMAP modified GAPS including the reintroduction diet strictly for 3+ months; consumed tons of grass-fed grass-finished homemade beef bone broth made from meat and marrow bones (4+ hrs high in instant pot) with nothing in it but carrots, a tiny bit of organic ACV, salt, and pepper. Made homemade fermented foods and ate small amounts regularly, gently cooked organic local veggies, didn't eat out, etc., all of which required a lot of self-control and I thought for sure I would see results. Nope, took a stool test at the end of the 3 months and was told I had liver/gallbladder issues and likely hydrogen sulfide SIBO, after being on GAPS for 3 months. All-in-all I would say get a stool test first to figure out more about what you are dealing with health-wise before you sink all the effort into this demanding diet. Love the book. Packed with dense info. I read bits of it every day or other day. We have been on the Gaps diet for three months. My 5 years old son has made great improvements. He has easier time dressing up by himself (before it was a daily morning frustration), much more eye contact when talking, decreases a lot of quirky behaviors and has diminished fidgety movements and annoying repetitive words/sounds. He also has increased his sleep hours by 2 extra every day. He takes his detox Edson Salt bath daily which relaxes him at night. For anyone starting I would suggest getting a Gaps cookbook ( the one with the highest rating in amazon) which makes it a fast and easy initial transition into the Intro Gaps while you are still reading and Learning the information given on Dr. Campbell’s Gap book. Also, listen to all of her YouTube videos to reinforce what you are reading. Also google the five most common mistakes on Gaps intro. And the 10 most common mistakes in the Intro Gaps diet. They show the Difference between doing stocks and broths. If you have children with autism, add, adhd, they should be eating stocks/soups (2-4 hour cooking time) and not broths since broths release histamine and can Affect highly toxic children or adults. This is a phenomenal book and Diet.
